1. Journal: Analyze the painting by Herbert Cole on p. 227: What do you see? Consider characters, objects, strutures, color scheme, attitude of characters, potential symbolism. . . . .
In addition: write down the most memorable thing/explanation someone mentioned in the ice breakers yesterday.
2. Read 224-225 in lit text and take notes on "the characteristics of the medieval romance." I would break the steps in your text into smaller segments.
3. Read: "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight" pp. 226-239
We listened to it in class. Be ready to complete a quiz on this selection and define the following: ethics, code, chivalry
